As probably everybody knows - Joomla is one of the most flexible and powerful CMS, that can fit into any kind of web project. Thought until recently there wasn't a decent enough component for Joomla that is lightweight, fast, based on latest technology and with functionality that can match Facebook. Then EasySocial came!

Some of the loyal members and readers of WebmaisterPro, knows that we previously used JomSocial as our main component, however recently we've switched to EasySocial by StackIdeas.

For quite a like time the success of WebmaisterPro was based mainly on EasyBlog component which is also build by StackIdeas. Our social network was very lucky to be selected for the alpha test and even during this stage, we didn't experience many bugs (mainly bugs that we've discovered were related to 3rd party components, but not really bugs withing EasySocial). Another extension from StuckIdeas, that we recently integrated in our website is EasyDiscuss (excellent forum/q&a extension).

Why EasySocial?

Well, if you don't have a team of 20 developers and you want things to work out of the box, than EasySocial is for you. I will be straight – with all my respect the competitors in the face of JomSocial and CommunityBuilder (other two popular social network components for Joomla), totally lack support. If you plan to build your own social network (a busy one), you will definitely have several hiccups a lot the way and StackIdeas support is very fast, professional and reliable.

Nothing much to say about this, it is exactly as installing an extension in Joomla, though a major plus is the easy way to update it straight from EasySocial dashboard.

As I mentioned above, we've migrate from JomSocial, the inbuild migrator worked like a charm for us, it took a bit of time, but it was flowless.

Integration with EasyBlog and the rest of the components from StackIdeas is already there. Another popular component Jreview is also supported. I doubt that there would be any problems with other components, actually we've run on an error related to Joomla URL structure and a bit of a problem with ProjectFork, but as I know the support team this probably is already sorted.

The component also come with easy integration with Facebook connect and social sharing capabilities.

EasySocial Back-EndFull fledged social network component, if I list all the posibilities and features, probably I can read a book, I would just say, that nothing is missing! The component is extremely flexible and even a newbies can install it and configure it. If you read this, you are probably already a member of WebmaisterPro, you can check it!

Application installation in user back-end is one great advantage, this is another level of custumized experience that might come very handy especially, if you are planning to integrate social network capabilities into your existing business or e-commerce website.

EasySocial is the right choice, I say this from personal experience. The component is very light, I guess that even on low grade VPS you wont have any problems with website speed, CPU and RAM consuption. WebmaisterPro hit 96 points score on Google Speed test, this is absolutely impressive. I believe that price is reasonable and you are getting more that that, if you purchase EasySocial. Our social network became at least 3 times more engaging since we migrated to EasySocial!
